2024 Project Sunshine Gala Recap

On Thursday, May 16, 2024 we hosted the Annual Project Sunshine Gala and it was an incredible evening commemorating 25 years of Project Sunshine. With our community's support, we raised $1 million to advance Project Sunshine’s work!

We had the honor of presenting the Volunteer Award to Edwin Icban, a dedicated volunteer who has served with us for 20 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2003, Edwin has selflessly given his time at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital and Family House in the San Francisco Bay Area. Through Project Sunshine's programs, he brought moments of joy, respite, and distraction to thousands children and families in need, and continues to this day.

We also met the Veras family through our latest film that captures their heartwarming story and how Project Sunshine changed their lives.

Finally, we witnessed unforgettable performance by Magician, Comedian, and Netflix star Justin Willman. He filled us with awe and wonder through his magic and it was extra special to hear about how he first-handedly experienced the healing power of play as a 12-year-old in the hospital with broken arms!
