Project Sunshine’s expansion into Israel began in Petah Tikva, an eastern suburb of Tel Aviv. It continued to grow its roster of partner medical facilities and multi-cultural volunteers who serve children and their families across multiple nationalities – Jewish, Arabs, Muslims, Druze – and backgrounds including refugees from Syria.
Project Sunshine’s volunteers are skilled medical students, tech experts, young professionals and students. More than 30% of these dedicated volunteers have donated over 100 hours serving children through a variety of programs. Volunteers bring activities to children through bed-side services to every child in the hospital ward regardless of age, illness or background. Volunteers also serve children through “kindergartens” or public schools for students with special needs located at medical centers.
