Project Sunshine Welcomes New Chairman of the Board Natan Bibliowicz

Written by Project-Sunshine Info | May 15, 2023

After 25 years of leadership, Project Sunshine founder Joe Weilgus, will transition his role from Chair of the Board to Founder and Chair Emeritus. Joe has been a charismatic and dedicated leader, growing Project Sunshine from a single-person operation to establishing an international presence with high-quality programming. Joe’s passion and entrepreneurial spirit made it possible to bring the healing power of play to hundreds of thousands of children facing medical challenges since Project Sunshine’s founding in 1999. Joe will remain involved with Project Sunshine as a Board Member, providing insight and guidance on major decisions and watching his vision grow in its reach and impact.

Natan Bibliowicz succeeds Joe as the Chair of the Board. Natan has been a member of the board since 2011 and is one of Project Sunshine’s longest serving board members. He created and led the Project Sunshine Golf Classic, our annual dinner and golf outing fundraising event, which will celebrate its 13th year this fall. He was the inaugural chair of the Marketing Committee, spearheading an organizational-wide rebrand.

Joe shares, "My enthusiasm for and confidence in Project Sunshine are greater than ever. For this reason, the next level of scale and growth will be with my endorsement for the transition of the Chair to my dear colleague and friend of many years, Natan Bibliowicz. Natan’s warmth, sincerity, and creativity, complemented by his proven success over the past decade on the board, positions him, and us, for success in his chairmanship. It is a true blessing and honor for me personally to be in this special position of trust in Natan, Whitney and her team, and the board.”

Natan writes, “I am honored to be nominated to serve in this role and look forward to working with everyone on the board to achieve our ambitious goals. I admire and appreciate everything that Joe has done and it is a privilege to build on his success to bring the healing power of play to children and families.”

Our Executive Director, Whitney Namm Pollack, shares, “Few people have done what Joe Weilgus did: conceive an idea, bring it to scale and create a lasting presence and continued impact. For the last 25 years Joe has led Project Sunshine with care and enthusiasm and it’s truly inspirational. As founder, Joe will always be a central and important figure to Project Sunshine – thank you. Natan, the staff and I are excited to partner with you and support your leadership."
