Project Sunshine held its Sixth Annual Golf Classic on September 12, 2016 at Westchester’s elite Golf Club of Purchase. The event raised over $467,000 to support Project Sunshine’s indispensable programming that brings relief, enrichment, and joy to thousands of children facing medical challenges and their families worldwide.

Natan Bibliowicz chaired the event, which honored Douglas Hammond, Chairman and CEO of NFP. The host committee included: Jonathan Andrew, Kyle Blackmon, Kay Booth, Mike Conway, Rosamond Cosentino, Danny Frank, Michael Goldman, Timothy Goodall, Mike James, Doris Meister, Linda Neely, Edward O’Malley, Timothy Robb, Peter Scaturro, Douglas Scherr, MD, Brett Schneider, Robert Vogliano, and Noel Wallace. NFP generously supported this year’s event as Title Sponsor.

Golf pro Michael Breed emceed this year’s event. Breed, host of Golf Channel’s The Golf Fix and PGA’s 2012 Golf Teacher of the Year, led a spirited morning golf clinic and played a difficult hole with each foursome throughout the day. Project Sunshine’s Program Ambassador, Palak Patel, Star Chef and winner of Food Network’s Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay, treated golfers to healthy snacks out on the course.

After a beautiful day of golf, players and dinner guests mingled at cocktail hour out on the terrace. Event Chair Natan Bibliowicz kicked off the evening program by welcoming guests and highlighting the impact of the Project Sunshine Golf Classic on supporting essential Project Sunshine programs. Michael Breed presented the golfer awards to lucky prize recipients, and Special Guest Auctioneer Jessica Bibliowicz led a record–breaking live auction that raised over $136,000.

Project Sunshine is deeply grateful to our incredible Golf Classic supporters who have collectively raised over $2.5 million dollars since the event launched six years ago. This funding spreads sunshine to brave, young patients facing medical challenges and their families across the United States and in four international sites. Special thanks to event Chair Natan Bibliowicz for your inspiration, leadership, and dedication and Honoree Douglas Hammond for your indelible support.

Thank you to everyone who made Project Sunshine’s Sixth Annual Golf Classic a remarkable success. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
