NEW YORK – Project Sunshine is delighted to announce the most recent additions to the leadership team. Jon Kornfeld will join as Director of Development and Tim Lemberger will join as Director of Marketing and Communications.
Mr. Kornfeld brings 15 years of development experience to Project Sunshine and will direct all fundraising efforts. He will play a key role in expanding an organization that brings hope and support to thousands of vulnerable children and their family members. Recently, Mr. Kornfeld served as the Director of Development for POTS (Part of the Solution). During his three years at POTS, Jon helped grow overall annual revenue by nearly 50% and successfully led the organization through an $8,000,000 capital campaign – the largest in the organization’s history. Prior to his role at POTS, Jon worked in development at the Nature Conservancy and was the Executive Director of the Washington Inner City Lacrosse Foundation. In his role with Project Sunshine Jon oversees all aspects of individual and foundation giving as well as special events. Jon received his BA in history, political science, and English from Gettysburg College.
“I am incredibly happy to be joining the Project Sunshine team. I’ve long admired the work that Project Sunshine does and the opportunity to join this amazing team and help the organization grow is very exciting to me.”
Mr. Lemberger will begin in this newly-created position that oversees all marketing and communications activities for Project Sunshine on June 3. Previously, Mr. Lemberger was the Director of Marketing and Communications at Education Through Music (ETM), a nonprofit dedicated to bringing music education to inner-city schools. During his tenure at ETM, Mr. Lemberger launched a new website, developed social media presence, increased use of video storytelling, solidified branding, and created new celebrity, business and cause marketing partnerships. ETM was honored with the New York Non-Profit Excellence Award in the area of Communications in 2018. As Director of Marketing and Communications for Project Sunshine, Mr. Lemberger will be responsible for strategic planning, branding, marketing and public relations. Mr. Lemberger holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa.

I am extremely enthusiastic about the valuable work that Project Sunshine does to provide hope and joy to children and their families.”
