Volunteer Spotlight: UnitedHealth Group, Boston
December 16, 2016
UnitedHealth Group volunteers from throughout the Boston area came together this fall to bring a celebratory party to heroic young patients receiving care at Franciscan Children's Hospital in Brighton, Massachusetts. Franciscan Children's provides personalized, family–focused care and education for children with special health care needs.
In the spirit of the Thanksgiving season, the UnitedHealth Group volunteer team led activities allowing patients to give back and thank the special people around them, including decorating wooden turkeys and thank you cards for their parents, caregivers, and supportive hospital staff.
Thank you to the 20 enthusiastic and engaging volunteers who allowed each of the 60 patients in attendance to forget about their serious medical challenges and enjoy the wonders of childhood!
