Volunteer Spotlight: UnitedHealthcare and the Atlanta Falcons

Project Sunshine - United Healthcare and The Atlanta Falcons

In November, Project Sunshine volunteers from UnitedHealthcare and the Atlanta Falcons teamed up to throw a very special party for the children and families of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Pediatric Hospital. The volunteers created a football carnival with an assortment of football crafts, face painting, and special "game-day" Sunshine Chefs recipes. The children even had the opportunity to face off against the Falcons players in a round of air hockey! Not only did the kids have a blast, the volunteers had a rewarding experience. "To be able to put a smile on their faces, it lifts our spirits," Falcons Linebacker, Paul Worrilow, remarked. "The smiles on their faces are big enough to light up an entire room; it's pretty special to see!"

More than 125 children and family members were able to take a break from their normal hospital routines and engage in fun and stimulating football activities! Thanks to our wonderful volunteers from UnitedHealthcare and the Atlanta Falcons, these children and their families will remember this party full of sunshine and fun for years to come.
