Volunteer Spotlight: UnitedHealthcare Atlanta

Project Sunshine - United Healthcare Atlanta

Project Sunshine's UnitedHealthcare Atlanta chapter has been making a huge impact in The Zone at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite (CHOA). This group of UHC employees always finds time in their busy work schedules to provide Creative Arts and Crafts activities to patients in need of some sunshine.

The group's kind-hearted nature is always appreciated by the hospital and patients. "I know if it is a Project Sunshine party – then it is going to be one of the great ones! Each volunteer takes the time to get to know our patients and their families and becomes an immediate support for them. It is so great for our kids to recognize that people in their community care for them," says Juliet Veal, Child Life Specialist at CHOA.

Giving back also brings joy to the UHC volunteers. Volunteer Keisha Lewis says, "I always enjoy Project Sunshine fun days at CHOA! Being able to contribute to bringing laughter and smiles to the childrens faces is priceless!"

UnitedHealth Group's partnership with Project Sunshine has provided a meaningful platform for employees to fulfill their company mission. "I am proud to be part of Project Sunshine, and extremely proud to be an employee of UnitedHealthcare ´Helping People Live Healthier Lives,´" remarks volunteer Dwana Blades. We salute Chapter Leader Sherri Rushing and the volunteers of UHC Atlanta for their dedication and passion for the patients of Project Sunshine.
