Volunteer Spotlight: Heile Poticar
April 16, 2017
National Volunteer Month is an opportunity to highlight and thank volunteers for all the amazing work that they do to bring joy to children facing medical challenges and their families. One of these volunteers is Heile Poticar, who has spread sunshine as the dedicated chapter leader for the UnitedHealth Group Los Angeles/Orange County volunteer chapter.
Starting in April of 2016, Heile has been visiting Miller Children and Women's Hospital in Long Beach, California with his team of volunteers to bring creative arts and crafts activities to pediatric patients. Heile had been volunteering through UnitedHealth Group since 2008 when he received the announcement that Project Sunshine would be creating a chapter in his region. He quickly became involved and has consistently stepped up as a leader in California as well as across the country, as he assists with hosting the monthly online trainings and tracking the new volunteers who join the Project Sunshine network.
When Heile is not volunteering with Project Sunshine, he spends most of his time working or enjoying quality time with friends and family. Heile's favorite part of volunteering is "making a difference in the lives of those who need it." Thank you, Heile, for doing just that! Project Sunshine appreciates you!
