Inaugural Golf Classic Recap
Project Sunshine’s Inaugural Golf Classic was held on October 3, 2011 at Century Country Club in Purchase, New York. The event was an enormous success!
Project Sunshine is deeply appreciative to event chair, Natan Bibliowicz, and to the event host committee: Kyle Blackmon, Kay Booth, Mike Conway, Bill McNamee and Peter Scaturro. Their extraordinary efforts helped gross $303,000 in support of Project Sunshine’s programs that reach over 60,000 children and their family members worldwide each year.
The day began with Hal Sutton, Professional Golf Champion and 14-time PGA tour winner, performing his legendary long drive on the 10th tee. Maurice DuBois, anchor WCBS 2 NEWS, acted as the daytime emcee. At 12:30, the golf foursomes took to the green for the start to the day’s tournament.
After the tournament the golfers and dinner guests joined Hal Sutton and the committee for a presentation of awards and a very successful live auction and raffle! The atmosphere was filled with a spirit of warmth and generosity.
Congratulations to Answer Vending for winning first place with a score of 61, and a close second , the Jeff Wilpon foursome with a score of 62. Prizes were awarded for third place, closest to the pin, and longest drive as well.
