Project Sunshine’s Second Annual Golf Classic raises over $314K
Project Sunshine’s Second Annual Golf Classic was held on September 24, 2012 at Century Country Club in Purchase, New York. This year’s event honored committee member Bill
McNamee, who received the Project Sunshine MVP Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the inaugural golf outing.
Project Sunshine is deeply appreciative of event chair, Natan Bibliowicz, and event host
committee; Kyle Blackmon, Kay Booth, Mike Conway, Vernon Evenson, Bill McNamee, Linda
Neely, Peter Scaturro and Robert Vogliano, for donating their time to help raise $320,000 in
support of our programs that reach over 60,000 children and their family members worldwide
Hal Sutton, Professional Golf Champion and 14-time PGA tour winner, returned this year
to lead a golf clinic and perform his legendary long drive on the 10th tee. Miss USA Olivia
Culpo attended as Program Ambassador and even hit her first golf ball, with the help of Mr.
Sutton! The golf foursomes then took to the green for a shot-gun start to the day’s tournament.
After a sunny day of golfing, the players and dinner guests joined Hal Sutton and the committee
for a presentation of the golfer awards. Sandy Weill then presented the MVP Award to Bill
McNamee, who brought the crowd to their feet in a standing ovation. C. Hugh Hildesley,
Executive Vice President at Sotheby’s, took the stage to lead a very successful live auction, and
guests shopped the silent auction while a live band played classic rock hits.
Congratulations to Dassault Falcon for winning first place for lowest gross foursome with a
score of 72, Kyle Blackmon’s group for winning first place for lowest net foursome with a score
of 53, and a close second, the Winget, Spadafora & Schwartzberg foursome with a score of 55.
Prizes were awarded for closest to the pin and longest drive as well!
